Teacher Innovator Program

Great teachers are not born, they are made

Just like architects, doctors, or lawyers. Just like them, teachers also need the knowledge and expertise to achieve success in their classrooms. At CEQUE, we believe ‘every child deserves a great teacher’. While traditional teacher training often relies on centrally planned workshops, these isolated events lack in-classroom support, making it difficult for teachers to implement and sustain new skills. Consequently, these trainings often have minimal impact on the actual needs of teachers and do little to shift rote-based teaching practices.

Our approach to teacher development is fundamentally different. We empower teachers to take ownership of their professional growth by fostering peer-to-peer support and collaborative learning. Our intensive coaching model provides both in-classroom and external guidance, focusing on student-centered pedagogies.

Teacher Innovator Program

CEQUE’s Teacher Innovator Program (TIP) empowers government school teachers to strengthen their teaching practices and transform student learning. In partnership with district education departments, TIP focuses on improving reading, writing, and math skills for students in Grades 1–5.

We believe real change takes time. Over five years, we work closely with the same group of teachers, supporting them through workshops, in-class coaching, lesson planning help, and curated resources — all aligned with the state curriculum and textbooks.

How We Work

  • Commit for the Long Haul: We partner with district education departments for 5 years to create deep, lasting change.

  • Focus Where It Matters: Together with district leaders, we identify a block where the need is the greatest and we can ignite maximum impact.

  • Onboard all schools: Every school in the block, around 100, joins the program, building a powerful community of practice.

  • Offer a Structured Pedagogy Curriculum: Teachers learn hands-on how to improve their practice through our structured pedagogy curriculum that focuses on supporting teachers execute best teaching practices in their classrooms.

  • Lead Through Collaboration: District administrations stay actively involved, driving program support, monitoring progress, and celebrating milestones.

Stories of Change

"Constant coaching and guidance by the CEQUE team helped me to adopt innovative teaching methods in my classroom. As a result, no child is left behind. I learned to prepare need and level-based lesson plans. Giving what children need for learning enhanced their interest and participation in the teaching-learning process."

Arti Shrivastava, Government Primary School Mayakhedi, Indore

"The FTNL (First-Then-Next-Last) method has increased students' comprehension and confidence in expressing themselves thoughtfully. It has become easier for children to identify parts of the lesson – Beginning, Then, Next, End. This has improved their creativity and communication skills. A collaborative atmosphere has been created in the classroom, making language learning more enjoyable and effective. The FTNL method has been useful for the overall development of students."

Avinash Shende, ZP School Shendri, Yavatmal

“The math workbooks that you have created for students are really fun and helpful. Children enjoy solving problems because the concepts are explained well. The Fractions section has lots of pictures for them to colour, making learning feel like a game. It's a great way for kids to learn while having fun.”
